The world of environment and energy is facing some deep changements lately: the industrial world is developing exponentially with consequences on the environment, demand for electricity and other energy supplies is increasing, to cite a few.

Progress and nature are considered enemies, but they are not always in opposition.

AI is contributing positively to the challenges related to energy and ecology.

It is allowing the rational exploitation of agriculture; optimizing pollution-reduction processes such as recycling; or participating to the research to fight the oceans plastic pollution.

Within the framework of these issues, the DATAIA Institute is financing two research projects, PEPER and Warm Rules, that respectively aim to optimise the use of renewable energies and to study organisms’ adaptation to climate change.
