On September 19, 2023, the first Generative Artificial Intelligence Committee met at Matignon. The aim of this Committee is to bring together players from different sectors (cultural, economic, technological, research), to help inform the Government's decisions and make France a country at the forefront of the artificial intelligence revolution.

Among the members of this committee, we are pleased to announce three appointments close to the DATAIA ecosystem:

• Alexandra Bensamoun, Professor of Law, qualified member of the CSPLA (French Ministry of Culture) and member of the executive board of Institut DATAIA.

« Contributing to the Interministerial Committee on Generative AI at the request of Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne is an honor, but also a challenge. Of course, thinking about the ethical and regulatory issues surrounding AI, while integrating technological and economic considerations, is what we've been doing at DATAIA for a number of years. But this time, the assignment is different, more cross-functional, involving a wide range of subjects and over a short space of time. An immense challenge, but one that has been nurtured by years of collective research in Saclay! »

• Gaël Varoquaux, INRIA Saclay research director, SODA team, Scikit-learn operations manager.

« I'm honored to be appointed to the French government's Artificial Intelligence Committee. Our mission is to inform public action on artificial intelligence, a technology that has the potential to impact many aspects of society. [...] As a researcher in computer science, working on both fundamental AI and healthcare applications, I have expertise that it's important to bring to the table. »

• Nozha Boujemaa, co-chair of the OECD AI Expert Group and Digital Trust Officer for Décathlon, founder and former director of the DATAIA Institute.
