Bertrand Thirion
Bertrand Thirion is a researcher in the Mind team, attached to the Inria Saclay research institute, which develops statistics and machine learning techniques for brain imaging. He contributes to both algorithms and software, with a particular interest in functional neuroimaging applications. He is involved in Neurospin, the CEA neuroimaging center, one of the leading high-field MRI centers for brain imaging. From 2018 to 2021, Bertrand Thirion headed the DataIA Institute, which brings together research on AI, data science, and their societal impact at the University of Paris-Saclay. In 2020, he was recently appointed a member of the expert committee advising the government during the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2021, he became a scientific delegate for the Inria Saclay-Île-de-France research center. Bertrand Thirion is head of the Karaib AI chair of the Individual Brain Charting project.
