Frédéric Pascal is a Professor at CentraleSupélec, Université Paris-Saclay, specializing in Applied Mathematics for Artificial Intelligence, in the Signals and Systems Laboratory. After obtaining his doctorate in 2006 from the University of Paris-Nanterre, and his habilitation to direct research (HDR) in 2012 from the University of Paris-Sud, he was Visiting Professor at the National University of Singapore. Following his responsibility for the “Signals and Statistics” pole within the Signals and Systems laboratory, he was appointed head of Artificial Intelligence activities at CentraleSupélec and director of the school's AI Hub in December 2019. In 2021, he became Deputy Director of the DATAIA Institute, before taking over its management in 2023. That same year, he was appointed “qualified personality” to the French Ministry of Culture's Conseil Supérieur de la Propriété Littéraire et Artistique (CSPLA). Since 2024, he has been coordinating scientific cooperation between France and Taiwan on AI and Cybersecurity. At the end of 2024, he received a mission from the Minister of Higher Education and Research on AI and pedagogy issues. Since April 2025, Frédéric Pascal has been appointed Vice-President of AI at the Université Paris-Saclay.

Frédéric is also active in editorial responsibilities for scientific journals and participates in several industrial and academic technical committees. His research in statistics, signal and image processing, and machine learning has led to the publication of over 200 papers in leading international journals and conferences.
