AISSAI Seminar – AI in Mechanical Engineering: Use Cases and Lessons Learned

On November 4, 2026, IN2P3-IJCLab, CEA-Irfu and the DataIA Institute Paris-Saclay invite you to a new edition of the seminar dedicated to artificial intelligence in mechanical engineering.

Organized by the CNRS AISSAI Center as part of its AI for Metascience thematic quarter, this second edition will focus on real-world use cases and lessons learned from practical experience.

A year and a half after the first edition, which explored the potential impact of artificial intelligence on mechanical engineering, AI is now gradually becoming part of engineers’ practices and tools. This one-day event will provide an opportunity to discover and discuss AI applications that have been tested or are already being deployed in real-world projects: tools and methods used, benefits achieved, challenges encountered, identified limitations, and key lessons learned.

Program

Discussions will cover a range of topics, including:

  • feedback and presentations of pilot projects;
  • automation of design workflows;
  • optimization of complex structures;
  • accelerated simulation;
  • predictive maintenance and intelligent monitoring;
  • tools, methods and large language models (LLMs);
  • collaborations between academia and industry;
  • perspectives for scaling up the use of AI in mechanical engineering.

The event is aimed both at those wishing to explore the opportunities offered by AI and at teams that have already begun integrating these technologies into their projects.
