Better understanding artificial intelligence
Artificial intelligence plays an increasingly important role in our lives, our studies and our professional activities. Yet understanding what lies behind AI tools and technologies remains a significant challenge. It is with this in mind that BrevetAI was developed. After a first year rolled out to the Université Paris-Saclay community, the programme is now scaling up and opening to the general public on FUN MOOC.
Requiring no technical prerequisites, BrevetAI allows learners to discover the key principles of artificial intelligence, better understand how it works and explore its various uses. The course also covers the main ethical, environmental and legal issues related to AI.
An interactive, hands-on course
BrevetAI takes a pedagogical approach based on experimentation and "learning by doing". Throughout the course, concepts are introduced through a variety of formats: fact sheets, expert interviews, practical activities and assessments.
This diversity allows artificial intelligence to be approached in a progressive and concrete way, while giving everyone the opportunity to move forward at their own pace.
Two tracks to discover or deepen your understanding of AI
BrevetAI offers two complementary tracks, depending on the level of depth you're looking for.
The Discovery track, lasting around 10 hours, provides the foundations needed to better understand artificial intelligence, how it works, its uses and its main challenges.
The Advanced track, lasting around 20 hours, allows learners to go further and deepen the concepts covered in the Discovery track.
BrevetAI scales up!
With its arrival on FUN MOOC, BrevetAI enters a new stage of its development. Having been piloted within the Université Paris-Saclay ecosystem, the programme is now aimed at a much wider audience. This opening up responds to a simple ambition: to enable as many people as possible to better understand artificial intelligence, beyond simply using its tools.
Developed by teams at ENS Paris-Saclay as part of the SaclAI-School project and led by Institut DataIA Paris-Saclay, with the support of Université Paris-Saclay's Directorate for Pedagogical Innovation, BrevetAI thus offers a first key to building AI literacy and better grasping the changes it brings about.
