Paris-Saclay University was represented by Sandrine Lacombe, professor and mission manager to the president for European and international networks. She spoke on behalf of the institution, stressing the importance of a strong university commitment in the face of the economic, social and political upheavals brought about by AI.

The U7+ alliance calls for a stronger partnership between universities, governments, start-ups and major digital players to build an inclusive innovation ecosystem. Universities play a key role in training the future workforce, shaping informed public policy and raising awareness of the ethical issues surrounding AI, from security and the digital divide to trust in technology.

The declaration's key recommendations include:

• The creation of an interdisciplinary network bringing together researchers and public decision-makers to provide a framework for AI governance;

• The establishment of a portal providing access to reliable scientific resources to guide public policy;

• The strengthening of North-South cooperation via training, knowledge transfer and exchange programs.

Through this collective approach, Université Paris-Saclay reaffirms its commitment to promoting artificial intelligence that serves the common good, respects cultural diversity and drives sustainable progress.
