France, Germany, and Japan will fund 9 projects selected during an international call for projects aiming at supporting research in artificial intelligence.

ANR (France), JST (Japan) and DFG (Germany) launched in 2019 a trilateral call for projects aimed at promoting international collaborations in artificial intelligence, specifically on:

  • Knowledge extraction and learning

  • Knowledge management methods and models

  • Advancing the state of the art in artificial intelligence in order to accomplish complex tasks

  • Human-centered approaches towards artificial intelligence methods

 

Among the 9 selected projects, 4 include a collaboration with researchers from Paris-Saclay:

  • AI for Aging societies: From Basic Concepts to Practical Tools for AI- Facilitated Cognitive Training // Alexandre Gramfort (Inria), Tonio Ball (University of Freiburg), Mihoko Otake (Center for Advanced Intelligence Project, RIKEN)
  • Learning Cyclotron // Laurence Devillers (LIMSI, CNRS), Andreas Dengel (German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence), Koichi Kise (Osaka Prefecture University)

  • Adaptive Artificial Intelligence for Human Computer Interaction // Jean-Claude MARTIN (LIMSI, CNRS, Université Paris Saclay), Elisabeth André (University of Augsburg), Yukiko Nakano (Seikei University)

  • Knowledge-enhanced information extraction across languages for pharmacovigilance // Pierre Zweigenbaum (LIMSI, CNRS), Sebastian Möller (German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence), Yuji Matsumoto (Center for Advanced Intelligence Project, RIKEN)
