Corps de texte

This agreement, signed on December 11, 2025, marks an important step in the development of ambitious international collaborations for our institute.

This new agreement will strengthen the ties between our two scientific ecosystems by facilitating connections between complementary research teams, supporting innovative interdisciplinary projects, and expanding opportunities for scientific exchange, mobility, and co-construction in AI.

A Collaboration Embedded in an Academic Mission to Montreal

The signing of the agreement between Institut DataIA and IVADO took place within the framework of an academic mission to Montreal, dedicated to international exchanges on education and training, pedagogical transformation, and innovation in the age of artificial intelligence.

This mission brought together a French delegation composed of representatives from the Inspectorate General of Education, Sport and Research (IGÉSR) — Marc de Falco and Émilie-Pauline Gallié — along with Lucas Tourny, Executive Director of Institut DataIA. The week was marked by numerous high-level meetings with key stakeholders in Québec’s higher education and research ecosystem.

Key Highlights of the Mission

  • Signing of a scientific collaboration agreement between Institut DataIA and IVADO;

  • Visit to the Pedagogical Innovation Incubator (I2P) on the Longueuil campus of Université de Sherbrooke, including a presentation of the BrevetAI initiative;

  • Visit to Sherbrooke to discover the Université de Sherbrooke’s main campus and engage in in-depth discussions with deans and academic support services;

  • Presentation of the results of the AI & Higher Education and Research mission at Université de Montréal, followed by extensive discussions with numerous institutional and academic partners, including Université de Montréal, OBVIA, AQPC (Québec Association of College Pedagogy), the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie, Université Laval, Université de Sherbrooke, UQAM, ÉTS and Polytechnique Montréal;

  • We warmly thank the IVADO teams for welcoming us to Montreal during the formalization of this collaboration. This partnership reflects a shared desire to bring about high-impact scientific advances through the convergence of two major hubs in artificial intelligence.

The DataIA Institute is proud to contribute to this international dynamic, which brings new opportunities for research and innovation.
