The DataIA Institute at Paris-Saclay University welcomes Quandela, a pioneering French company in photonic quantum computers, as its first industrial partner in quantum technology. This initiative marks a key step in bringing artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum technologies closer together.
Corps de texte

The DataIA Institute facilitates the transfer of artificial intelligence (AI) research to the industrial world and promotes collaboration between academic laboratories and companies. Through its Industrial Affiliation Program (PAI), the Institute offers companies privileged access to high-level scientific expertise and the pool of students and young researchers at Université Paris-Saclay.

This program promotes:

  • The implementation of joint research projects and the sharing of experiences;
  • The participation of industry representatives in the Institute's scientific strategy via the Industrial Advisory Board;
  • The co-development of training courses and tutorials dedicated to AI issues;
  • The organization of collaborative events (hackathons, challenges, thematic workshops);
  • Easier access to recruitment, inter-company training, and calls for projects;
  • As well as working sessions with the network's university partners, within the DataIA Club Connection (D2C), in collaborative spaces and via HPC computing resources dedicated to AI.

The integration of Quandela as the first industrial partner in quantum technology illustrates the PAI's mission: to promote dialogue between academic research and industrial innovation and encourage the joint development of ambitious projects, whether internships, CIFRE theses, research contracts, or multi-partner chairs.

Promoting collaboration between research and industry

The arrival of Quandela will enable the creation of an interdisciplinary research ecosystem focused on AI and quantum computing. By combining academic and industrial expertise, this collaboration aims to develop new learning and computing methods and accelerate fundamental and applied research. It will also serve to strengthen synergies between academic research and industrial innovation.

By welcoming Quandela, we are taking a new step forward in creating an open, interdisciplinary ecosystem in AI and quantum technologies. This collaboration brings academic research and industrial innovation closer together and makes Paris-Saclay a European center of excellence for hybrid AI-quantum architectures
said Frédéric Pascal, Director of the DataIA Institute.

A rapidly growing field

The field of AI & Quantum is booming, with more than 10,000 recent publications worldwide. Thanks to this cooperation, Paris-Saclay aims to become a major European hub for hybrid approaches and disruptive technologies.
